A federal bank was operating ServiceNow Discovery to discover storage, on-premise, multi-cloud, and private cloud environments. The organisation decided to retire ServiceNow Discovery and migrate to using BMC Discovery due, in part, to the licensing costs of the ServiceNow offering.

Complex Project Requirements:

When TekWurx joined the project, BMC Discovery had already been deployed and was currently scanning the organisations estate.  However, the OOTB integration to ServiceNow could not be utilised.

This was due to complex IRE rules that other integrations relied upon, and differences in required classes to be populated.

The bank needed to customise the integration between BMC Discovery and ServiceNow CMDB, undertake the migration with minimal downtime to the business and complete the project within the license renewal window.
